We had a fantastic stay at Fox barn. We fell in love with Staveley. The location of the accomodation was perfect for some lovely runs, for a scenic walk into the town and as a base to explore the lake District. It was clean and well presented with a very helpful guide for visitors. We spent a lot of time at the local brewery, lovely bread from the artisan bakery, we were delighted to find an inov8 store, we joined in with the Staveley 5km and our little boy happily spent hours throwing stones in the nearby water. We couldn’t have chosen somewhere nicer. Staveley has a great community vibe and has a great mix of people and a lot going for it and the cottage was absolutely perfect. Very comfy beds, spacious bath and very tidy.

This is a lovely apartment in a beautiful and convenient location. Staveley is a great place to stay while in the Lake District, with its own shops, cafe, pubs and train station, lovely local walks. The apartment felt cosy and homely and had every facility we needed (we are a family of three plus a dog). The furnishings are a little tired and the carpet in the lounge could maybe do with a deep-clean or replacing, but the beds were very warm and comfortable. Overall the apartment was very clean and easy to manage the temperature throughout with adjustable central heating plus an electric heater in the lounge, openable windows and good ventilation. It would benefit from a second key being available, so two can come and go separately while keeping the place secure. This is a great place to stay for a couple or small family.
